What is the Visa Waiver Program?
The Visa Waiver Program (VWP) is a program set up by the U.S. Department of State to facilitate the screening of travelers to the U.S. and strengthen security at U.S. borders. It allows nationals of member countries to travel to the United States for tourism or business without obtaining a visa under certain ESTA eligibility conditions.
To qualify for this visa waiver: Nationals of partner countries must complete the ESTA form online.

Which countries are eligible for the U.S. visa waiver program?
Countries join the U.S. Visa Waiver Program by implementing enhanced border management. The conditions required by the U.S. administration to become a VWP member are :
- To issue US-compliant passports to its nationals;
- To share some of the country’s security data with the United States ;
- To maintain for the United States a list of national passports reported stolen or lost;
- To have an American visitor visa refusal rate of less than 3%;
- Actively combat terrorism at border controls.
